*Will Inherit a coaching staff in WAAAY over their heads. Mangini has been here almost a year, and we are way worse than we were at this time last year. Actually- you will be responsible for firing him. And please try to find "cause" so I dont have to pay him too. This is getting ridiculous.
*Will take over 53 man roster full of players past their prime (see Eric Barton, Hank Fraley, etc.), players that never truly developed (Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson), players that dont have a clue (Mohamed Massaquoi, Brandon McDonald) and players that would rather retire than be a part of your team (Jamal Lewis). Through Week 12, this roster of rejects is 1-10, has the 31st Overall Offense, and the 32nd Overall Defense. Good luck to you.

Expectations:

We'll tell you you will get 3 years to turn this thing around. But let's be honest. You dont have that long. I am done with this "rebuilding" thing. And dont try selling me any of this crap that you need time to find players that will "buy into your system". I fell for that garbage last year and look what it got me. A team full of Chansi Stuckey's and Mike Furrey's.

Also- all signs point to you making the 1st Overall selection in the 2010 Draft, along with 10 other draft picks. Dont mess this up. They say a 'miss' on a High Draft pick can set your franchise back 10 years. Just so you know, WE ARE THE REASON they say that..

Browns vs. Bills: Who Do the Experts Got?

Vegas has the Browns as 5.5 point underdogs. The weather in Buffalo is supposed to be cold, windy and sloppy. The Browns have been a "Pass to set up the Run" offense. The "Real" Browns Defense has finally shown up and given up 2 TD leads in the second half back to back games....
All signs point to the Brownies losing. However in a season where all logic is lost, who knows what will happen tonight.

On ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike in the Morning, Cleveland Native Mike Golic picked the Browns to cover the spread tonight. Golic feels that fellow ND alum, Brady Quinn will play 'good enough' for the Browns to win. Equally as surprising was Co-Host Mike Greenberg's feelings on the game tonight. He just doesnt like the Browns to cover, he likes the Browns to pull the upset. Not that beating the 5-4 Buffalo Bills is considered "Shocking the World" or anything...

Watch for the Browns Defense to show a few different looks as well as some more personnel rotating in tonight in Buffalo. Wimbley will be moved around, Shante Orr will see more playing time to hopefully limit Marshawn Lynch, and Brandon McDonald will see some much deserved time on the pine.

Quinn will see quite a few different looks tonight too. Watch for heavy blitzing, and the Roving D, or UFO Defense that the Browns have used a few times, to try and confuse Quinn.

Edwards Drops the Ball...Again.

Luckily for Bray Bray, the news of Brady Quinn starting has taken a lot of focus off of a bad trend for #17. Braylon Edwards leads the league in Drops, according to Elias Sports Bureau. They have the number at 14. (a generous 14. We counted at least 3 more in the Shaver Sports Film room) A league high 14 Drops this year and we are only half way through the season? (2007 NFL Stats show Braylon was tied for league lead with Dallas Clark at 12.)

Just as bothersome as the drops is the lack of accountability that BE has shown. After last weeks embarassment, Edwards made himself unavailable again to the media, and according to ESPN Cleveland's Michael Reghi, that is 3 Games now that Edwards has had nothing to say. This is the same Braylon Edwards who was seen talking all off-season, promoting Yahoo! Fantasy Football, his own aspiring career in Hollywood, and making wagers with Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Phelps (He would have been a lot better off if he bet Phelps he would have 2x more Drops than he had Gold medals). I guess Braylon only talks when the Going Is Good. Think we will hear from Braylon this week? I guess it depends if he scores a TD or not..

Either way, this kid has a lot of growing up to do, both On and Off the field.

Trent Dilfer Is a Hater

Trent "Scoop" Dilfer was just on Kenny Roda's show talking about breaking the Brady for DA story.

Trent Dilfer called Browns Fans "the most influential fans in the NFL" as well as "delusional" and said they "don't understand that it takes time to build a winner." He said that he understands the impact that the Browns fans have over the organization, and that he himself was "victimized" by the Browns fans during his time here. He went on to call the Brady Quinn move a "knee jerk re-action," and that it was typical behavior for a dysfunctional franchise to make moves like this to quell popular opinion.

My question to you, Mr. Worst QB to ever win a Superbowl, is what is your point?

Its not called influence its called passion.

Its not delusion, its exhaustion - 44 years of exhaustion.

You say you were victimized? I'll just say this, you have to be pretty bad to be in the discussion to be benched for Charlie Frye, let alone to actually be benched for Charlie Frye. And if you were so good, why didn't you ever start again?

Lastly, its not a knee-jerk reaction...that is a ridiculous statement. The guy has one of the lowest passer ratings in the NFL, has all year, he started 0-3, and at the mid-way point they are 3-5. Knee - Jerk? No that's trading your starting QB in week (2) for a 6th rounder.

Its not personal its just business Son--, I mean Trent. Just report the story pal, take your scarred emotions out of it.

Maybe its just as simple as Brady Quinn will do a better job at quarterback. Maybe that's all it is.

DA leads Browns to Win over Jags

In the Browns win yesterday against the Jags, Cleveland did just enough to win (thanks for bobbling the winning TD pass Matt Jones, who? Matt Jones).

DA did just enought to win, and I guess, lived to play another day as the Browns head signal caller.

With that said, Shaver Sports' mic'd up department picked up this Fake Conversation between Braylon and Brady - pictured above:

BRAYLON: "You are never going to start bro. Your boy DA just bought himself at least 3 more weeks with the win today."

BRADY: I am well aware Bray...if you had just dropped a couple more balls...

BRAYLON: I was dropping 'em for you BQ, but if I dropped 2 more today, I would have dropped as many as I did all of last year (12)

BRADY: You only dropped (10) balls coming into today? Seems like more. I had you charted for (10) drops against the Skins.

BRAYLON: Naw, I only had (4) drops against Washington.

BRADY: Oh, gotcha, my bad.

BRAYLON: No prob...Brady, why do you think Savage traded a first rounder for you bro, seeing as how he is not planning on playing you?

BRADY: Not sure, usually first rounders get in the game...I am just wanting him to pull the trigger on one of these trades I keep hearing about.

BRAYLON: Maybe they will package you with Kellen for a linebacker with speed, when they unload him.

BRADY: Yeah thanks dude,I just hope he trades me to somewhere warm.

Browns Have More Problems Than Politics

Romeo Crennel doesn't want politics to enter the Browns' locker room, and cause division amongst the players. He really means it, his quote is all over the net, here on FANHOUSE, and Mike and Mike discussed it this morning...Romeo's stance is pretty clear.

I first have to say that I agree with Romeo Crennel on the general principle that a team should not allow politics to divide a locker room. With that out of the way, I then have to laugh at the idea that Crennel is making the assumption that, said locker room, is somehow UNIFIED, politics withstanding. The assumption that the Browns were all on the same page at one point, and then these politics, came in and divided them, is hilarious really.

Don't worry about the fact that Joe Thomas and Brady Quinn were at the McCain rally, and that Willie McGinest is supporting Obama. Worry about the fact that you are 1-3 AND COREY WILLIAMS is TALKING SMACK to the GIANTS! Worry about the fact that your team is split down party lines on who should be your QB. Worry about the fact that it does not appear as if Braylon Edwards supports DA. Worry about the fact that it looks like Kellen mouthed the words 'get ready' to Brady Quinn after a DA interception against Cincy. Worry about the fact that if you don't figure out what plays you want to run, who you want to run them, or when you want to call timeout, because if you dont, then you wont have a locker room in the midst of political turmoil that you will be forced to manage...because you wont have a team to coach.

Ndukwe Makes Roomate Brady's Case to Start

Chinedum Ndukwe was Brady Quinn's roomate at Notre Dame. The Bengals DB did his best to weigh in on Cleveland's QB controversy, by once again, having his best game of the season against DA, the guy keeping his boy with a hat a clipboard on the sidelines. Ndukwe picked DA twice last year, and picked him off again today. Along with his pick of DA, he also deflected (2) other balls, and sacked DA for a 12 yard loss.

After the sack, he exchaged pleasantries with Derek. DA took offense to whatever it was Ndukwe said, and barked back. Maybe Ndukwe said this is the last game you are starting this year, and my boy BQ is gonna make it so you never see the field again. Or maybe he didn't. What he did do, was continue to dial up DA's number once again.

Could Brady Be Worse Than These Guys?

Currently, Derek Anderson has a passer rating of 43.5 for the 2008 Season. The only QB with a worse rating is KC Chiefs QB extraordinaire' Tyler Thigpen, who is clocking in dead-last with a 38.3 passer rating for the young season.

Since 1999, the Browns have probably had the worst QB situation of any team during that stretch. I don't know if the following list of Browns starting QBs in that time is supposed to make me laugh, or make me cry. What I do know though is, there is no way that Brady Quinn could be the worst QB to start for the Browns since they have been back.

The following is a list of Browns Quarterbacks since 1999, and their Career Passer Ratings:

1. Kelly Holcomb: 79.2
2. Tim Couch: 75.1
3. Ty Detmer: 74.7
4. Derek Anderson: 74.5
5. Jeff Garcia: 71.3
6. Charlie Frye: 71.1
7. Trent Dilfer: 70.2
8. Doug Pederson: 62.3
9. Luke McCown: 52.6
10. Spergon Wynn: 39.5

That is an awful list, and here are some numbers to put the above into perspective. Currently, Kyle Orton of the Bears has the 18th Highest Passer Rating in the NFL for the 2008 Season. His rating is a 79, to tie match Kelly Holcomb's - team leading - number.

There are also (9) guys with Passer Ratings OVER 100 for the 2008 season, including Jason Campbell of the Redskins. Matt Kassel, in his first two starts since HIGH SCHOOL, has a passer Rating of 87.

Lets Give Brady a shot and see if he cant crack the SEEMINGLY UNBREAKABLE PASSER RATING OF EIGHTY...or we can move forward with a guy who is competing with TYLER THIGPEN for the TOILET BOWL TROPHY.

Romeo, maybe you might want to take this information and FLIP ANOTHER COIN!

Cincy is Good Place To Start Quinn

Romeo said that he is getting the other guy ready this week. The other guys is Brady Quinn. That is a good thing for (2) reasons:

1. Derek Anderson now has a Career Passer Rating Lower Than Tim Couch's
2. When Browns QB's play the Bengals, their Passer Ratings go up 10 points.

Let me first reiterate my first point for all the DA fans out there. Tim Couch has a CAREER PASSER RATING OF 75.1 Derek Anderson has a CAREER PASSER RATING OF 74.5, and plummeting.

The Career Passer Rating, on Average, of the (7) QBs that have started against the Cinncinnatti Bengals since 1999 is 71.95. When playing Cincinnatti specifically, those same (7) QBs have a Passer Rating in those (18) games of 81.48.

Everyone does better against Cincy, and so will Brady.

The following is how the (7) Browns QBs Passer Ratings looked in their starts against Cinci, vs. their career passer ratings:

...well maybe not Doug Pederson or Charlie Frye, but who cares.

Prop Bet on Braylon, Over/Under on Brady

There is a prop bet being offered by Las Vegas in regards to the amount of drops possible by Braylon Edwards this weekend. Thats not good for Number 17. Check link for details NFL Fanhouse. There is also an over under on how many games Brady Quinn will start this weekend. If I am a betting man, I am betting the under on the Braylon drops, and the over on the Brady starts. I just have a Butch Davis gut feel, that at some point, DA is going to take the hit for the awful start for the Browns. I dont see Chud, or Romeo firing themselves beforehand. DA is an easy scapegoat, that is why I am taking the over on #10's snaps from scrimmage.

Eric Deetz, Afternoon Drive on Fox: Expect Brady Quinn Soon

The Browns are a ship heading straight for an iceberg, and they need to get re-directed. Its not all DA's fault, its not all Romeo's fault, its not all the injuries fault, its a combination of everything. But regardless of who's fault it is for this 0-2 start, the fact remains abundantly clear, that the Cleveland Browns need a shot in the arm, and they need it fast. Eric Deetz, host of Fox Sport's Radio's Afternoon Drive on Fox, thinks that shot in the arm could be Brady Quinn. He said to expect Brady Quinn soon if your a Browns fan. I agree with him. I am not saying he has any inside information, or knows anything we don't know, but I am saying I am all for the idea. If the Browns go on this way, they will end up 1-7 or 2-6 at the mid-way point, and then what? Fire Romeo, and wait until next year. For a new Coach, a new system, and the wait 3 years while everyone learns that system, all the while, the losses continue to pile. No thanks. Look no farther than last year. Browns had high expectations, came into the season, and got the doors blown off themselves in the first game. Then, the Browns made the bold move to go with DA, caught lightning in the bottle, and ripped off 10 wins. The Browns need lightning in a bottle, and they need it now. Firing Romeo isnt going to help this year, and I thought that was what we were trying to do here. Win now. DA just doesnt have it, and it looks to me like his offense doesn't believe in him - at least Braylon doesn't - at all. Throw the kid in there, what's the worst thing that can happen? He throws two picks and cant engineer a touchdown in a nationally televised game against your rival? Oh wait, we did that last night.
